About Femiknit
Femiknit is a Danish knitwear design brand founded by designer Karla in 2023. Femiknit creates trend-driven knitting patterns, and every pattern includes a Reknit guide: how to unravel an old sweater and knit something new from the same yarn.
10% of all sales is donated to iThemba Projects, a South African organisation giving children and young people in Sweetwaters access to education and mentoring.
The idea
"We have never talked more about sustainability, and yet ultra fast fashion keeps growing. I don't think the answer is asking young people to wear the same sweater for 20 years. The problem isn't trends. It's that we throw them away."
