This pattern was developed in collaboration with @coffeebeaniess, a clothing brand working to give women in Burundi the opportunity to work with knitting— often surrounded by their children — allowing them to provide for their entire family.

Some sweaters cannot be sold due to small knitting errors. Instead of wasting the valuable yarn, we use the concept of REKNIT — which we love at femiknit.
You can either buy the pattern alone at femiknit.com, or buy a kit with the pattern and two unraveled sweaters at the Coffee Beanies website.

Size: 1 (2) 3 (4) 5 (6) 7

Chest circumference: The sweater measures 93 (97) 103 (111) 117 (126) 132 cm, measured from under the arms around the chest.

Size guide:The sweater should have a positive ease of approximately 10–15 cm. This means that the chest circumference of the sweater should be 10–15 cm larger than your own chest circumference (the widest measurement around the chest/abdomen).

Length: 60 (62) 64 (66) 68 (70) 72 cm

Gauge: 14 stitches x 21 rows in Stockinette stitch= 10 x 10 cm.

Recommended needles: Needle 6 mm (40 and 60/80/100 cm)
Yarn: The sweater is knitted with one thread. (blow yarn)

2.    Buy new yarn

1) RE-KNITTING
Give new life to old sweaters or leftover yarn from your drawers.
Consider using recycled or leftover yarn for your project. It’s cheaper, better for the environment, and quite fun!
Experiment until you achieve a gauge of 14 stitches x 21 rows = 10 x 10 cm
Amount: Use 1050 (1150) 1300 (1400) 1500 (1650) 1800 meters of yarn of each thread.

2) NEW YARN
7 (8) 9 (10) 10 (11) 12 Balls DROPS air

Optional hook: I have attached a small hook in the corner of the collar, so you can fold it up around your neck and give the collar a new look.
